The Fringe-lipped worm-eel〔(Common names of ''Schultzidia retropinnis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 (''Schultzidia retropinnis'') is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels).〔(''Schultzidia retropinnis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Henry Weed Fowler in 1934.〔Fowler, H. W., 1934 (20 Jan.) (1416 ) ''Descriptions of new fishes obtained 1907 to 1910, chiefly in the Philippine Islands and adjacent seas.'' Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 85 (for 1933): 233-367.〕 It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the western central Pacific Ocean, including Taratara Island, Samar Island, the Philippines, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Solomon Island. It dwells at a maximum depth of , and inhabits benthic sand sediments in coral reefs. Males can reach a maximum total length of .〔
